Held this year on Easter Saturday at its traditional Hornby Castle location, the Bedale Point-to-Point offers a fantastic day out with something for all the family.
A new addition to the 2020 edition of this popular event will be a dedicated Kids’ Zone, featuring go-karting, pony rides, bouncy castle, catering facilities and more.
Clerk of the Course David Ford commented, “The Bedale Point-to-Point has long been an important social occasion in the area and this year we are delighted to extend our on-course facilities to include an area dedicated to children’s entertainment. We hope to welcome a new generation to discover the thrills of a day at the races.”
Set in beautiful parkland just five miles from Catterick Garrison, the event is renowned as one of the most popular point-to-points in the North of England, annually attracting an enthusiastic crowd of several thousand visitors.
Six competitive steeplechases are contested during the afternoon, with licensed bookmakers and a giant screen showing live coverage of all the action.
Many visitors enjoy picnicking in the car park with friends and family before racing, while the site also offers varied catering options as well as a popular bar.
Please note that while visitors are welcome to bring alcohol for private picnics in the parking area, for licensing reasons we are unable to allow the public to bring their own alcohol into the main racing area.
